SwitchDeck, 4K HDMI 2.0 Switch
The SwitchDecks support signals up to 4K@60Hz, and allows you to switch between three or five HDMI sources to one HDMI display.
Note: Sewell HDMI Switches are all HDCP compliant which means that they do not strip or bypass HDCP. The SwitchDecks support all version of HDCP up to HDCP 2.2
3x1 Distribution Amplifier
The SwitchDecks are active 4K HDMI switchers (aka distribution amplifier) which means that they actively amplify and equalize the input signal in order to perform at maximum spec. This signal amplification means that you can use longer HDMI cables and still achieve optimal results.
The main spec to look for in a true HDMI 2.0 switch (including HDMI 2.0a and HDMI 2.0b) is the bandwidth spec. In order to achieve full 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 chroma, the HDMI Switch needs to support 18 Gbps bandwidth.
Why you would want 4K@60Hz vs 4K@30Hz?
As our TV's get bigger, so does their ability to display higher refresh rates. The SwitchDecks support 4K@60Hz, while older switches only support up to 4k@30Hz, but why should you care?
HDCP 2.2 Compliance
The SwitchDeck is fully compliant with HDCP 2.2, but it is important to note that the new HDCP 2.2 standard is not backwards compatible with previous versions of HDCP.
This means that if one of the devices in your setup does not support HDCP 2.2, you will not be able to get a 4k@60Hz signal on your display. You will only be able to get up to 1080p.
